Travelling in style is the trend off late. Everyone tries to find solace from the hectic demands of day to day life. Travelling to different places is a widely chosen option by many to relieve their selves. Travelling in a group is always fun and advisable too. But some people who are recluse prefer to travel in solo. It is challenging and demanding, at the same time, to travel alone. But they could do well if they follow certain tips. Here are certain tips for travelling solo

o Firstly zero in on the number of days of travel

o Then decide on the destination/s

o Do a search on the internet about the destination, its climate, distance, modes of transport available, accommodation facilities, food types, cost of living, currency exchange, places to visit etc

o Create a budget for the tour

o Choose the mode of travel to the destination

o Make travel reservations in advance and confirm all bookings to avoid last minute problems

o Create an itenary of places to be visited and things to be done

o Reserve accommodation facilities well in advance

o Create a list of things to be taken like basic medications, protective clothing, digital camera, video camera, torch light, shoes etc

o Do not carry valuables like jewellery, cash etc

o If a different language is spoken in the destination, it is better to learn a few common terms like good morning, where is this place, how much does it cost, thank you etc in that language

o Maintain a diary to write down your travel experiences. It might serve as a travelogue.

o In solo travel, safety must be of primordial concern. Watch your back always and be on guard always.

o Do not talk freely to strangers.

o Bargain as much as possible and wherever possible

o Avoid touts, intermediaries, brokers during tour

o Seek help from local people especially cops or women with children as they are least likely to cheat
